SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM's debut album came out this week, and their touring schedule got underway Thursday night (Feb. 23) at the Off The Wagon club in Montgomery, Alabama. The band's got a few more shows over the next week, but they haven't been able to announce more yet because of their other commitments — singer-guitarist Damon Johnson is a member of ALICE COOPER's band, and drummer Scott Rockenfield has a busy year ahead of him with QUEENSRŸCHE. Johnson told Launch that SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM will try and add more shows over the next few weeks, if all goes well. "The plans currently are to try and fill the window of time between the last week of February and the last week of April, because I have obligations with ALICE, (and) I know Scott's gonna get busy also in the summer with QUEENSRŸCHE — they've got some plans — so we will certainly have to kind of find our windows of opportunity to get out and do some shows."
QUEENSRŸCHE has announced shows from late August through mid-October in support of their new album "Operation: Mindcrime II", which comes out April 4.
COOPER's got a Canadian run mapped out from May 1 through May 17.
The other SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM dates are Saturday (February 25) at The Swamp in Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Monday (February 27) at the Ridgeport Pub in Naples, Florida; and next Wednesday (March 1) at Sammy T's in Huntsville, Alabama.
